Methods of development

Allusion:
(pt) Noah’s ark was make to save the animals from the rain
(proof) God made it rain for 40 days and 40 nights because he was angry with the people.
Analogy:
(pt) the water cycle is like a sports team
(proof)You have high point and high points and low point like when the water is in the ocean or a lake the team isn’t doing well and not making the playoffs. But when the water evaporates the team has a couple of good years and makes the playoffs. Then the water falls from the sky meaning the team has a couple of bad years and the cycle continues.
Anecdote:
(pt) Some things that seem like they could never happen, happen?
http://www.bellvista.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/raincloud-cartoon11.jpg(proof) The parliament buildings roofs were not always green, they were made out of copper and when acid rain fell from the sky over time they turned green. So when they made a new parliament building, the roof had urine poured on the roof to make the copper green.
Cause and effect:
(pt) Part of photosynthesis plants need water to grow.
(proof) Rain falls, plants grow.
Contrast:
(pt) Snow is very different from rain.
(proof) Snow is soft and chilly while rain falls hard and warm. Snow is light while rain is heavy.
Comparison:
(pt) the rain looks like tiny ice cubes falling from the sky (proof) the rain is tiny droplets of water.
(pt) I feel like I’m swimming in this rain (proof) it is raining very hard out.
http://bestclipartblog.com/clipart-pics/rain-clip-art-4.pngClassification:
(pt) Rain can be put into many groups.
(proof) Heavy rain, drizzle, acid rain are all different types of rain.
Definition:
(pt) Rain is a form of condensation.
(proof) Rain occurs when clouds are formed and water needs to be released.
Division:
(pt) Acid rain is formed by normal rain.
(proof) Chemicals from the water that are evaporated come up with the vapour causing acid rain.
Specific example:
(pt) Rain can be very helpful.
(proof) It can help farmers grow their crops and water’s their fields.

(pt) Rain depicts the sadness or dreariness in a scene, in a book, or a movie.
(proof) When Snow White was running into the forest it began to rain.
Process Analysis:
(pt) Rain has to go through a long process called the water cycle before turning into rain.
1.     (proof)  The heat soaks up water from ocean’s, Lakes Rivers, trees in a process called evaporation. As the water mixes with the air it forms water vapour. as the air cools the water vapour forms clouds. This is called condensation. Most of the water is immediately returned to the seas by rain which is called precipitation. The rest of the water vapour is carried inside clouds by wind over land where it rains or snows. Rain and melted snow is brought back to the oceans by rivers, streams, and run-off from glaciers and water underground

Thematic Comparison

Thematic Comparison paragraph Exemplar

Zero House Future House Design by Specht Harpman Zero House, Future House Design by Specht HarpmanIn Ray Bradbury short story The Veldt and in Joseph McGinty Nichol movie I Robot 2 have a common theme about technology challenges traditional morality. In both of these stories the technology that they created works against them. In The Veldt the nursery manipulates the children’s mind and it turns the children against their parent which ends up with their parents dying. This is also shown in the movie I Robot 2. The robots which humans made turn against the humans and they have to fight back. This shows us that humans need to be more careful on what they create because they might get stabbed in the back. In both cases the technology that they created works against themselves. Both of these story stories show that the technology they make is meant to be helpful but it ends up not being helpful. In the narrative The Veldt the nursery was mean to help the children explore their imagination and to have fun. The kids seem to love the nursery but when it was turned off they couldn't take it and then they tricked their parents into the nursery. This is also shown in I Robot 2 because the robot were made to make life easier and they did at first but then they took over humans. Made to be good but they will always end up bad. In the end both stories show how technology challenges traditional morality and how technology isn't alway a good thing.
