Thematic Comparison

Thematic Comparison paragraph Exemplar

Zero House Future House Design by Specht Harpman Zero House, Future House Design by Specht HarpmanIn Ray Bradbury short story The Veldt and in Joseph McGinty Nichol movie I Robot 2 have a common theme about technology challenges traditional morality. In both of these stories the technology that they created works against them. In The Veldt the nursery manipulates the children’s mind and it turns the children against their parent which ends up with their parents dying. This is also shown in the movie I Robot 2. The robots which humans made turn against the humans and they have to fight back. This shows us that humans need to be more careful on what they create because they might get stabbed in the back. In both cases the technology that they created works against themselves. Both of these story stories show that the technology they make is meant to be helpful but it ends up not being helpful. In the narrative The Veldt the nursery was mean to help the children explore their imagination and to have fun. The kids seem to love the nursery but when it was turned off they couldn't take it and then they tricked their parents into the nursery. This is also shown in I Robot 2 because the robot were made to make life easier and they did at first but then they took over humans. Made to be good but they will always end up bad. In the end both stories show how technology challenges traditional morality and how technology isn't alway a good thing.
